TUTORING COURSES
We believe every child learns best with a personalized approach to education. We offer private lessons by the hour in various settings, both in the UK and around the world, to support your child’s school education. While online tutoring is effective, we also provide in-person lessons and mentoring. Our goal is to offer a service that is convenient and, most importantly, helps create a positive and enjoyable learning experience for your child.
Group lessons require an one-off trial session for each student to assess their level of articulation, understanding, vocabulary variety, and more. Based on the teacher's judgment, the class may be divided, or depending on the child's characteristics, they may be recommended for 1:1 tutoring.
Fees start at £40 per hour

Share your goals
We begin by understanding your child's needs and goals in order to discuss realistic, and achievable educational plans.
Find the perfect fit
From our network of Square-Studio Cambridge tutors, we carefully choose those who meet the role's requirements and provide them with clear expectations.
Let the learning start
Once we've identified the right time and date when your child is available for lessons, it's time to book and begin learning with our professional tutor.
However regular tuition typically begins after an initial assessment, where the tutor creates a tailored plan that aligns with the child's goals.

Why is debate class important?
Through debate classes, children will learn the art of persuasion. Debate involves strongly supporting one’s argument based on solid evidence, allowing students to advocate for their position and their team while convincing others of the validity of their stance. The class is conducted online and focuses on debate and discussion throughout the term. It offers a great opportunity to learn patience in respecting and listening to others' viewpoints, as well as to develop skills in diversity and speaking.Through debate classes, children will:
Learn how to organize their thoughts coherently,
Use rhetorical devices to make their arguments more persuasive,
Appropriately use evidence and examples to back up their claims,
Practice active listening to understand others’ thoughts and arguments,
Develop the skills to present clear and accurate arguments repeatedly.
Through this process, they will learn the value of diversity and how to respect others' opinions, just as they wish their own views to be respected.

Choosing the best secondary school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a parent. Square-Studio Cambridge Tutors can help make the transition from primary to secondary school as smooth as possible.
What is tested?
The content varies from school to school, but generally, the tests include English and maths, with some schools also testing verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Since schools often update their examination processes, be sure to check the latest information.

Creative writing is a form of writing that focuses on expressing ideas, thoughts, and emotions in an imaginative and original way. Unlike technical or academic writing, creative writing allows for more freedom in style, structure, and content. It includes genres such as fiction, poetry, drama, and essays, where the writer creates stories, characters, settings, and dialogue, often exploring different themes or personal experiences. It’s meant to engage the reader’s imagination and emotions, offering a creative outlet for the writer.

Safeguarding is essential in tutoring, whether it's conducted in person or online.
Background Checks and References
Qualified tutors must undergo appropriate background checks, including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This process helps identify any criminal history that could present a risk.
Additional Safeguards
Even with a DBS check, parents should take extra precautions. We recommend the following:
Avoid holding lessons in a bedroom. It’s best to have lessons in a central area, like the kitchen table.
For online tutoring, use parental controls on the devices your child uses to monitor and limit access to inappropriate content.
Discuss privacy measures with your tutor, such as recording the lesson for future use, using a virtual whiteboard, and limiting screen sharing to the necessary materials.
Sit in on the first lesson or two, especially if your child is younger. Gradually allow more independence as you get to know the tutor and build trust.
Keep the door open so you’re within earshot.
Regularly ask your child about their experience with the tutor. Make sure they feel comfortable sharing any concerns. Teach your child about online safety and appropriate behavior, and encourage them to talk to you if they feel uncomfortable.
Stay in communication with the tutor. Address any concerns right away and keep an open line for ongoing dialogue.
Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, discuss it with us immediately.

If you’re seeking someone skilled and trained to teach, opt for a qualified tutor. While this may seem obvious, a tutor with the right teaching qualifications will have hands-on experience working with children in your child’s age group and specific subject. A qualified tutor is a subject matter expert who can monitor progress, communicate with your child’s school (if needed), and stay informed about the latest curriculum updates and exam standards.
We offer high-quality tuition at home with fully qualified teachers. All our tutors are experienced professionals, carefully vetted by us, and hold enhanced DBS checks.

Square-Studio Cambridge Tutors offers both 1-on-1 tuition and group lessons. Group sessions are limited to a maximum of 6 pupils. This social setting allows children to learn alongside their peers, which can help build confidence in the classroom.
One-on-one tuition is available either online or offline, depending on your location. This type of tuition provides focused support, making it ideal for children who may get distracted in groups or need extra help to build self-esteem and confidence in learning. If you’re looking for a private English or math tutor, this is a great place to start.
