Debating and Discussion

Why Are Debate Classes Valuable?

Debate classes help children develop persuasive communication by teaching them how to express their viewpoints with clarity and evidence. They learn to defend their ideas confidently while listening respectfully to others.

Held online throughout the term, the course emphasizes critical discussion and dialogue. Students gain patience, improve public speaking, and learn to appreciate different perspectives.

Through debate, students will:

  • Structure their thoughts logically,

  • Use language effectively to persuade,

  • Support arguments with clear examples and facts,

  • Listen actively and engage thoughtfully with others,

  • Practice expressing ideas with precision and confidence.

This fosters a deeper understanding of diversity and mutual respect in communication.

Students will grow in key areas such as critical thinking, self-expression, confidence, respectful listening, and clear communication.

To ensure appropriate group placement, all students must take a trial session, which helps assess their speaking clarity, comprehension, and vocabulary usage. Class assignments may vary based on the teacher’s evaluation.
